Fostering

Do not neglect

There was a time over twelve years ago that I cried out to God for just one baby.

That crying out lasted four long years, (in other words, infertility is horrible!) Everything seems to take longer while you are waiting for something, especially something like a precious human.  We all have trouble waiting for things – our coffee, lunch or an important piece of mail, but waiting to become pregnant was one of, if not the most difficult and most painful things I have ever gone through.

We asked the Lord for one baby….. not realising the many babies He would give us, and the great desire placed in my heart to bring in many more not even from my womb.

I can’t even tell you the amount of ups and downs over the years along with trials and conflicts, mixed with crazy emotions and lost feelings. To begin to explain it all would be hard – but I know that everyone of us goes through paths like this throughout our life journey,…… so let me encourage you with this

Do Not Neglect

NEVER NEGLECT GOD’S WORD AND HIS PROMISES!

There was one common thing my husband and I never neglected to do, and that was seeking God’s word, and then standing on it believing what it said was true!

I never would have believed it, if someone had told me 12 yrs ago what our life was going to look like now, it would have been too much for me to handle then. But small steps and standing on His word is what got us through and got us to where we are now. And we only continue to move forward.

His Word Got Us Through!

It is so easy to be consumed with a circumstance, and be focused on our emotions (believe me, I’ve been there). But if there is one thing we’ve learned, it’s to stand on God’s word and not to neglect it.  It not only gives a person SO much hope and assurance, but God’s word brings joy, and totally lightens our burdens!

  • Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.  1 Cor 15:58
  • Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises,so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.    2 Peter 1:4

Gather people around you who will stand with you and who will remind you of God’s goodness. Ask for prayer, and don’t be afraid of crying and taking that time with Jesus! It’s in those times that He will meet you.

Be encouraged that God is a faithful, and He fulfils His promises!

Keep being faithful, continue to make small steps everyday towards the dreams and sweet visions you have in your heart, and most of all,……. do not neglect seeking God’s word and powerful promises!

Until next time…

  1. You’re absolutely right! As life gets busier from all of our responsibilities, it can be so easy to neglect reading the Word of God and spending quality time with Him. Thankfully, even when we are faithless, He remains faithful. How He loves us so<3
